Our Origin Story
We are Kari and Cooper, the married duo behind Mainstay Design Co. After six years running a boutique web design business we saw an opportunity to bring our skills to solo entrepreneurs and growing businesses—without the big-agency price tag.
Originally from Bainbridge Island, Washington, we now live in Livingston, Montana where we spend our free time renovating our 1950s house, exploring public land and cooking with family and friends.

Hi, I'm Kari. (the designer)

I’m a solution-oriented thinker, believer in open and direct communication, and natural empath. Growing up in a family-run construction business taught me firsthand the rewards and challenges of entrepreneurship, which is why I love helping my clients thrive by collaborating on digital strategy and practical steps to achieve their goals.
In my free time, you’ll find me exploring the outdoors, traveling, or cooking elaborate meals for friends and family.

Hi, I'm Cooper. (the analyst)
I’m a curious, analytical thinker who thrives at the intersection of data and business decision-making. With eight years as a data analyst in the cannabis software industry, I’ve honed my ability to transform complex data into clear, actionable insights. My passion lies in using data-driven storytelling to help clients confidently navigate strategic decisions.
At Mainstay, I support our clients by offering web traffic analytics services designed to enhance their understanding of customer interactions, identify growth opportunities, and optimize their digital presence.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me fly fishing Montana’s scenic rivers, experimenting with new recipes, or working on a home improvement project.
Louie
(The four-legged member of our team)
Louie is usually asleep on the floor of our office, but occasionally he joins us for outdoor adventures. Here he is floating down the Big Hole River in Montana, a little nervous and a lot excited.
